Supported Media Format
These file types can be imported to Korbyt and added to Playlists for direct display or used in the Builder Tool in creating new Layouts or Messages
Image Formats
jpg/.jpeg
.png
.bmp
.gif
.svg
Image File Resolution Best Practices
Images should be close to their display resolution
A full-screen image for a 4k display would not need to exceed 3840×2160 pixels
Images for lower resolution screens, or for display on less than the full screen, can be lower resolution
Having a file resolution that exceeds the display’s resolution requires the player to perform additional processing to fit the image to the output. The more the image exceeds the screen resolution, the more processing is needed at the time of display.
BrightSign Specifications for Images
The following image types are supported on BrightSign players:
BMP: 8, 16, 24, and 32 bit
PNG: 8, 16, and 24 bit
JPEG (note that JPEG files that use the CMYK, grayscale, or black & white color spaces are not supported. Images that use CMYK should be converted to RGB.)
BrightSign has device/model-specific limitations as well. If BrightSigns are part of your signage network, you should review the BrightSign Image Formats article for full details.
Video Formats Supported for Sigange
While Korbyt supports several video formats, not all are supported across all product uses.
The most supported and compatible formats are
.mp4
Our preferred format
Should be the H.264 codec for the highest compatibility
.webm
Video Max Bitrate Support
Video playback issues on Korbyt Players are often related to video bitrate and encoding settings. Videos encoded at higher bitrates than the player configuration allows may fail to play, stutter, or behave inconsistently.
The Standard Max Bitrate supported is 5 Mbps (megabits per second) measured on a video’s average bitrate.
Videos with a bitrate exceeding your tenant’s limit will not be added to playlists to protect your media players and ensure system stability.
The Bitrate limit for your tenant can be increased by Korbyt Support, but it will put greater strain on your media players when played back.
Video Codec selection, not just format, can cause complications with very complex Videos, or with specific hardware that does not support that codec

Additional Video Formats for Mobile and Web
In addition to .mp4 and .webm, the formats below are also compatible with the Korbyt Mobile and Web application
The formats below are supported for Mobile and Web posts only and will not play on Signage
.avi
.mov
.mpeg
For the Korbyt Anywhere Mobile Employee Communciation Application there is a mobile file upload size limit of 25 MB for Android devices and a 120 second lengh limit on Apple devices.
These limits are not related to Signage
Audio Formats
.mp3
.mp4a
.aac
Other Supported Documents
These document types are supported in Korbyt, but can not be added directly to playlists for display on screens.
.ppt/pptx (see note below)
.pdf (see note below)
.doc/docx
.odt
.xls/xlst
.ods
.odp
.txt
.pages
.key
.number
.csv
If a .ppt/.pptx or .pdf file is imported it will be transcoded into one image per slide/page and placed in a separate folder so that images may be easily added to a playlist for signage.
This transcoding process may have to substitue fonts when it processes.
If Font and design consistancy is critical and the result is meant to be displayed on a Playlist, it is suggested to save the PPT or PDF file as an image file type on your computer to be uploaded to Korbyt
