This article will review the settings, configuration, and workflow unique to the Launchpad Publishing process in Korbyt. This process uses Predefined Layouts. Predefined Layouts For Web Based Submission has information on how to build new layouts to be shared.

Settings for the Launchpad System

Several settings will change the behavior for the Launchpad System and the behavior of individual templates for your users.

System-Wide Launchpad Settings

These settings are system-wide and will apply to all Launchpads. Changing what features are available in the Launchpad Publishing Process

You can adjust these settings by

  • Open settings by clicking the Gear Icon, click the Signage heading,

  • Then, in the Global Settings section, there are several settings that are specific to Launchpads

    • Enable Korbyt Launchpads

      • If turned on, users will have access to a selection of templates provided by Korbyt

      • If turned off, users will only have access to your custom Predefined Layouts that have been created

    • Enable Launchpad Content Approval

      • If turned on, Content Authors and Launchpad Only users who use Launchpads will have to have their content approved before it is seen.

        • Users who are above Auther level will not require approval when using Launchpads

      • If turned off, Content Authors’ content will automatically go to a Published status and be played through the mechanisms tied to that specific template (Tags, Player/Player Group, Playlist Assignment)

    • Enable Launchpad Validity Date

      • If turned on, it will add a Validity Date section to the Launchpad Publishing window

      • If turned off, the users will not be able to enter validity dates in this flow. They can be added to the Layout that is created after Luanhcpad Publishing

      • Require Launchpad Validity Date(available if Validity Dates are Enabled)

        • If turned on, users will be forced to enter validity dates to publish their design

        • If turned off, validity dates will be optional

      • Maximum Validity Duration - Days(available if Validity Dates are Enabled)

        • Enter a number of days that will be the longest the validity window can be

          • Time between Start date and End date

        • If left blank, there will be no limit to the Validity Date window

    • Default Launchpad Duration - Seconds

      • The amount of time a launchpad will be seen on a screen IF the launchpad is creating a new Playlist or being added to an existing playlist through the Launchpad system.

      • If no value is entered, the standard default is 20 seconds

        • This setting does not affect clever rules that might automate items through tags in a Clever Playlist

Settings for Individual Launchpads

Each Predefined Layout that is the basis for your Launchpads also has settings and Metadata that affect only that template.

You can view and adjust individual template settings by

  • On the Layout Screen, click on the Predefined Layouts section

  • On the Predefined Layout screen, click on the Edit Metadata action for the Layout you wish to adjust

  • This will open the Predefined Layout Settings window

    • These settings only affect the 1 Predefined Layout that you selected at a time

  • The check boxes at the bottom control the Templates options as a Launchpad

    • Enable as Launchpad

      • If checked, it will add this template to the Launchpad Area of the CMS

      • If Unchecked, it will not be available as a Korbyt Launchpad and will only be available as a web form

    • Publish to Players/Player Groups – Applies to Launchpads

      • If checked, the Launchpad will allow the user to create a New Playlist directed at the selected Players or Player Groups the user has access to, and will be shown as Full-Screen Content

        • If turned on, the user will be forced to make a Player/Group selection OR select a Playlist if also turned on.

    • Publish to Playlists – Applies to Launchpads

      • If checked, the Launchpad will allow the user to add the new content to an existing playlist.

        • If turned on, the user will be forced to make a Playlist selection OR select a Player/Group if also turned on.

This shows a Launchpad that has both Players/Player Groups and Playlists checked. The user will have to select at least one option before the system will allow the item to be submitted

    • Tags

      • Any tags added to the Template will also be added to the Layouts created in the Publishing Process

        • This can be used for automation

    • Category Drop-down

      • This allows you to assign the Launchpad Category, and the template will appear in
