Overview of CMS Role and Privileges

Each user who logs into the Content Management System (CMS) has a role assigned to them that controls what actions they can perform.

  • The separate services offered by Korbyt are managed separately for CMS access.

    • They appear as separate tabs on the Edit User screen

  • CMS Users need to be assigned a role for each system they will be interacting with.

    • They can be at the same level or differ across systems.

  • Only the services you have subscribed to will be visible in your tenant.

An individual can be an Administrator of Digital Signage, an Approver for Desktop, and have no access at all to Mobile & Web for Example.

High-Level Breakdown of CMS Role and Privileges

Unique User Roles

  • Read-Only

    • Available for Signage, Mobile & Web, and Desktop(InView) CMS User Roles

    • Allows a user to view sections of the system and engage any available preview windows, but does not affect content in any way.

  • Signage Media Manager

    • A role only available in the Signage portion of Korbyt, but can be combined with other user roles for other systems on the same tenant (Mobile & Web Author, for example)

    • Allows a user to Add and Edit items to the Media Manager like an Author, but also gives the ability to Delete items from the Media Manager

    • The Media Manager role does not have permission to create Layouts or use Launchpads as a Signage Content Author can.

  • Signage Launchpad User

    • A role available in the Signage portion of Korbyt only, and selecting it will restrict access to any role for other Korbyt systems in the same tenant.

    • Allows a user to only see the available launchpads that they have been given access to.

    • They can not see or preview any other section of the Korbyt CMS

  • Your CMS can have any combination of user roles that you require

Provisioning User, or Anchor Tenant Administrator

  • Every CMS has 1 unique tenant administrator that has been programmed into the system

    • This user is called the provisioning user and is set by the Korbyt Support team when the system is created. Sometimes referred to as the Anchor User or Anchor Tenant Administrator.

      • You can identify this user by the lack of the pencil or trashcan icon next to their entry on the Manage Users screen.

    • This user can be changed if needed by contacting Support@Korbyt.com
