This article is for Sony Bravia BZ model devices only. If you have a Sony Bravia non-BZ model device please use the legacy activation method found in Sony SOC, Non-BZ model Devices, How to Install Korbyt
Prerequisites
Before starting the setup, you will need to have the following items. All are required to complete the setup successfully. Details on some of these items are reviewed in the next steps.
Bulk Provisioning In Korbyt
Bulk provisioning registers your Sony Pro display with the Korbyt platform before it is powered on. Follow the steps in order
Log in to your Korbyt CMS
You will need to have Administrative rights in your Korbyt Tenant
Navigate to the Players screen
This will be in the Device Management section of the Navigation Bar or the Mega Menu
On the Players screen, click the blue Bulk Provision button
In the Player Provision pop-up, click Download Sample CSV file
This will download a sample form to your computer in your normal download folder
Open the CSV file on your computer
You can delete the sample entries
Enter the following required information for all the Sony Bravia Pro SOC displays you wish to connect at this time
Column A - MAC Address = The MAC-E (Ethernet) MAC Address for the device
This must match the Ethernet interface the display will use when installed
Column B - Number of Outputs = 1
Always set to 1 for Sony Pro SOC Displays
Column C - Name = A Device Name
Less than 64 characters
Can only contain letters, numbers, and hyphens (no special characters, can not end in a hyphen)
If you want to include other symbols, the Alias field can be used for a more friendly display name for the device in the CMS
Column E - Tags = bravia
Required for Sony Pro Device identification
Column DP - Customer = { "sonyProvisioningKey": "<Community Key>" }.
Replace <Community Key> with the key provided by your Korbyt administrator.
Must match the key entered on the display.
Additional Metadata Information
Additional information fields can be filled in now or edited later.
In addition to the above required fields, we suggest that each player also be set with their physical address.
The more information a player has about themselves, the more you can automate in Korbyt.
Once done, save the CSV file on your computer
In the Korbyt CMS, in the Provisioning pop-up, click Choose CSV File
Browse and select the CSV file on your computer
Click Validate and Preview
You will see a sample of the details from the CSV file
Click Import to finish
You will now see the new player entries on the Player Screen. They will appear in Pending status and remain there until they have their first successful connection to Korbyt at the end of this process.
Optional - Default Content Playlist in CMS
When the Display setup (next step) is completed, the screen will begin showing content from the Korbyt CMS. If no content is assigned to them, they will display default content. The starting default content is a series of Korbyt logos.
If you wish to define your own default content, you can follow the steps here: Setting Default Content Playlist
Display Setup
Once the CSV has been uploaded, and the player appears in the Korbyt CMS players list, you can then proceed with the physical display setup.
Connect the Display’s Ethernet
Power On The Display
Enter the Community Key
When prompted on the screen, enter the Community Key
This must match the key used in the CSV file
Apply Pro Settings
The display will apply Pro Settings automatically
The display will restart to complete the configuration
Korbyt Player Application Launch
The Korbyt player application will start and display the assigned content, or the default content if nothing is assigned.
Player Administration
You can now use the Korbyt CMS interface to manage and monitor your Sony Pro displays on the Players page in your CMS.
